The Directorate of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) has signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with non-governmental organizations to strengthen the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme at Anganwadi centres.
ICDS Director Mr. Vasudev Malawat stated that under the Bhamashah Scheme, the department has entered into agreements with three NGOs to enhance service delivery, monitoring, and implementation of departmental initiatives. Through these MoUs, a roadmap has been set to further strengthen the ECCE programme for the holistic development of children enrolled in ICDS-run Anganwadi centres.
Mr. Malawat further informed that under the Bhamashah Scheme, the department is seeking community participation — from individuals, institutions, and CSR initiatives — to support pre-school activities, build the capacity of honorary workers, and improve basic infrastructure at Anganwadi centres. These efforts aim to enhance service quality by upgrading facilities.
Providing details of the three MoUs, the ICDS Director shared that:
Rocket Learning will send digital ECCE activities to parents of children aged 3–6 years and Anganwadi workers through digital media groups. The organization will also train workers in play-based learning and teaching management.
In Baran district, Sesame Workshop India Trust will assist in capacity building of Anganwadi workers and support activities under the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) programme. It will also distribute pre-school kits to children at 500 identified Anganwadi centres in the district.
Save the Children (Bal Raksha Bharat) will work in the districts of Rajsamand, Pali, and Jodhpur to improve basic infrastructure at selected Anganwadi centres, conduct regular ECCE activities, and form mothers’ groups to promote health and nutrition awareness.
