Fertilizers are being made available for Rabi crops in the state as per the demand of the farmers. So far 1.67 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 1.09 lakh metric tonnes of DAP have been supplied in the month of October and presently 1.31 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 56 thousand metric tonnes of DAP are available in the state.
Agriculture Commissioner Shri Kanaram informed that the demand of 14.50 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 4.50 lakh metric tonnes of DAP for Rabi season has been approved by the Central Government. Against the demand of 4.50 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 2 lakh metric tonnes of DAP in the month of October, so far 1.67 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 1.09 lakh metric tonnes of DAP have been supplied and 2.83 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 91 thousand metric tonnes of DAP. There is expected to be a supply which is continuing. He informed that at present 1.31 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 56 thousand metric tonnes of DAP are available in the state and fertilizers are being provided to the farmers as per their demand. He said that there is continuous supply of fertilizers. Therefore, farmers should buy fertilizers as per their need and do not make unnecessary storage by buying in advance.
Commissioner Mr. Kanaram informed that this year also in Kharif season sufficient supply was made as per the demand. Against the demand of 8.50 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 4.40 lakh metric tonnes of DAP in Kharif, 8.92 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 4.94 lakh metric tonnes of DAP were supplied.
Action for prevention of black marketing of fertilizers-
Commissioner Shri Kanaram informed that continuous action is being taken by the department to ensure the quality of fertilizers and to prevent black marketing and non-agricultural use of fertilizers in the state. For this, teams have been formed from the commissionerate level and sent to the districts. The teams have taken 23 sales stop, 11 forfeiture, 10 license suspension, 1 license revoked, 7 FIRs and 77 other action against various fertilizer vendors in the month of September and October.
Control room set up to check black marketing-illegal sale-
Commissioner Shri Kanaram informed that a state level control room has been set up in the Agriculture Commissionerate to check black marketing and illegal sale of fertilizers, urea and DAP. The control room will remain open from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. Farmers can make complaints related to black marketing of fertilizers, fake fertilizers and other complaints on the control room’s telephone number 0141-2227674. The identity of the person giving information will be kept confidential. Action will be taken after maintaining the register of complaints received in the control room.
