The community has the ability to face challenges and establish themselves. The Sindhi community endured the most pain during Partition, and remembering it still brings tears to the eyes of those who lived through that time. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has also felt this pain, and as a result, Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is observed so that the new generation can understand the suffering of Partition and be infused with a spirit of patriotism.
Shri Devnani further said that the Sindhi community has always been hardworking and industrious, dedicating their efforts to the service of the nation. Their love for the country inspired Hemu Kalani to sacrifice everything. Even today, the Sindhi community remains ready to give the highest level of dedication for the nation.
He also mentioned that over time, Ajmer has undergone significant changes. Colonial names have been replaced with Indian ones: Foy Sagar has been renamed Varun Sagar, King Edward Memorial is now known as Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Rest House, and Hotel Khadim is now Hotel Ajaymeru.
During the cultural evening, renowned artists Mohit Shewani and his team from Devansh Entertainment presented a theatrical performance based on the Partition Horrors. The presentation depicted, with deep emotion, the hardships faced by the Sindhi community during the 1947 Partition, the pain of displacement, the saga of struggle, and the community’s invaluable contribution to nation-building and development in independent India.
Students from Swami Sarvanand School and Hari Sundar Girls’ School performed patriotic dances. Folk singer Ghanshyam Bhagat presented folk songs.
