New Delhi, July 09: It is a matter of great pride for Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) that Professor Arshad Noor Siddiquee from the Department of Mechanical Engineering has been included as Member-India in a multinational consortium of SANDIA National Laboratory, Albuquerque, USA. Sandia is a government body working under the Department of Energy, USA. The “Asia Research Security Consortium” of SANDIA National Laboratory has members from major Asian countries and Professor Siddiquee has been included as Member-India. He will also attend a workshop in Singapore in the third week of August 2024 which is fully funded by SANDIA and it is aimed at creating a research security framework.
Professor Siddiquee has also been included as a member of American Welding Society (AWS) subcommittee on “Friction stir welding for Aerospace”. The subcommittee looks into development of technical specification/AWS standards for the friction stir welding and friction stir additive manufacturing for aerospace applications. He has also been included in the subcommittee’s Task Group “definitions and terminologies”.
Both, SANDIA National Laboratory and American Welding Society (AWS) are coveted & apex international bodies and finding a place in them is a distinction of international repute. Professor Siddiquee’s highly focused research work on friction stir welding/processing & additive manufacturing and new materials development has been well recognized and has resulted in collaborative work through engagements with esteemed researchers from Canada, UK, China, Russia and USA.
