New Delhi, March 26: The University Placement Cell (UPC), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised a dynamic two-day workshop focused on “Unlocking Creativity and Efficiency with Generative AI, Microsoft Excel, and Presentation Techniques” on 21st & 22nd March, 2024. The workshop was aimed to provide students with essential skills and knowledge to excel in today’s competitive professional landscape.
On the first day of the workshop, the inaugural ceremony began with an address by Prof. Rahela Farooqi, Honorary Director of the UPC, JMI. It was followed by a welcome address by Prof. Rihan Khan Suri, Hony. Director of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), JMI.
The keynote address was delivered online by Mr Rohit Singh Tonk, MD MLA (Harvard University), a physician informaticist and strategy consultant in USA. He set the stage for an enlightening event and spoke about the power of AI in medicine and other domains. The inaugural ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by Prof Sabah Khan, Deputy Director, UPC, JMI.
Inaugural ceremony was followed by an engaging session on leveraging generative AI to transform talent by Mr. Bhuwan Mahajan, Co- founder of EdMyst. Participants gained valuable insights into various AI tools and effective strategies for utilizing generative AI in this session. Assignments were distributed to students to reinforce their learning, fostering interactive and engaging discussions throughout the session. In the afternoon session, Mr. Manoj Gupta, Founder and CEO of Digivate Labs, along with his team, provided valuable guidance on creating entity models to optimize various processes.
On the second day of the workshop, participants delved deeper into skill enhancement with sessions led by industry experts. Mr. Anurag Gupta, Consultant at BCG, shared advanced Excel techniques crucial for success in the corporate world. Prof. Moonis Shakeel, Prof. in Economics, JMI conducted a session on creating dashboards using Excel, providing students with practical skills applicable in real-world scenarios.
The workshop concluded with a session on effective presentation skills led by Mr. Rahul Singh, Director of Reporting and Analytics at Bain and Company. Rahul is an alumnus of Department of Management Studies, JMI. He covered both technical slide creation and storytelling, offering participants valuable insights. Assigning practical tasks reinforced learning, empowering attendees with actionable skills for professional success.
The workshop’s success lies not only in the valuable knowledge imparted but also in the interactive and engaging nature of the sessions. Participants left equipped with practical skills and a deeper understanding of the subject matter, poised to navigate their professional journeys with confidence.
