New Delhi, October 31: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) observed “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” (National Unity Day) today (October 31st, 2024) to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event included a pledge ceremony held in the lawn situated in the Registrar Office complex where the Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif, administered Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge in Hindi to employees of the university. Officiating Registrar Mr. M. Nasim Haider administered the pledge in English.
During the pledge ceremony, participants reaffirmed their commitment to preserving the unity, integrity, and security of the nation. The pledge emphasized the importance of spreading this message among fellow countrymen and was taken in the spirit of unification of the country which was made possible by the vision and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
