New Delhi, January 22: A delegation from Minority Serving Institutions in the United States of America (USA) visited Jamia Senior Secondary School (JSSS) of Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) to gain insights into the school’s education system.The group, comprising faculty members from various Minority Serving Institutions and Community Colleges, engaged with teachers at JSSS to learn about the educational practices in India.
Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan, the Principal of JSSS, extended a warm welcome to the delegates. This was followed by Dr. Ghazala Siddiqui, Lecturer in English, who provided an overview of India’s school education system. She highlighted the multidisciplinary approach employed at Jamia. Additionally, Ms. Faiza Siddiqui, Lecturer in English, provided detailed insights into the various co-curricular activities that took place during the academic year.
The delegates actively interacted with the teachers, inquiring about the functioning of the school and the challenges educators face. They also shared their own experiences and challenges encountered in the US education system. The exchange was both enriching and productive in understanding the challenges of the school education system in both countries.
