Aiming to bridge the skill gap among rural youth using modern learning systems, Ambuja Foundation has joined hands with Skill Development Network to jointly use Wadhwani Operation Foundation's curricula as additional support for its assessments and soft skill training at its Skill & Entrepreneurship Development Institutes pan India. Under the joint endeavour, a new online 'Learning Management System' developed by Wadhwani Operation Foundation will be introduced as additional support to offer a hybrid learning methodology that can foster relevant soft and vocational skills and assessment experience among young aspirants - providing them with a strong edge in the employment market.
Keeping the current industrial requirements in focus, the Ambuja Foundation aims to make vocational education more relevant, interactive, and engaging, providing a pathway for youth to take control of their careers and fulfil their livelihood aspirations. The newly launched employability skills course is strategically curated to increase job prospects for students. It focuses on essential soft skills like efficient communication, foundational computer literacy, and developing a positive attitude towards work. The course designed by vocational education experts at Wadhwani Operation Foundation aims to ensure that students are job-ready by inculcating necessary professional attributes and expertise.
Through this initiative, the faculty members will also train as mentor learners through an updated employability skilling program. Students will receive post-course support along with assistance on job retention and career advancement.
Talking about this partnership, Pearl Tiwari, CEO, of Ambuja Foundation said, "As we work towards narrowing the skill gap in rural India and encouraging gainful employment, we believe that innovative and hybrid learning methodology such as this will be key in helping us equip rural youth with job-ready skills. The new curricula will help strengthen the delivery of soft skills training for us, and demonstrate how collaboration and partnerships ensure we do not 'reinvent the wheel' but instead pool our resources for the betterment of rural youth – helping them secure strong livelihoods to lift them and their families out of poverty."
