Rajasthan Police has announced an intensified campaign against organised crime and narcotics syndicates, with Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma stating that authorities will increasingly target the financial assets of major criminals.
Presenting the department's six-month report card, Sharma said police registered 7,195 NDPS Act cases, marking a 29.94% increase over the previous year as enforcement against narcotics trafficking intensified.
Police also carried out extensive action against illicit liquor and illegal arms, registering higher numbers of cases under the Excise Act and Arms Act.
The DGP said authorities have adopted a three-pronged anti-drug strategy focusing on dismantling supply chains, reducing demand and promoting de-addiction. Special action has been launched against identified drug hotspots and major traffickers across the state.
During 2025 and the first half of 2026, authorities demolished or initiated action against illegally acquired properties worth over ₹62 crore linked to narcotics traffickers.
Looking ahead, Sharma said CID (Crime Branch) and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force will use provisions under the BNSS, BNS and PIT-NDPS Act to attach and confiscate assets generated through drug trafficking, while special operations against extortion gangs and organised criminals will continue.
