The Madhya Pradesh Council of Ministers, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, on Tuesday approved a series of key decisions covering land classification, irrigation infrastructure, employment schemes, social welfare programmes and wildlife conservation.
In a significant move concerning Pachmarhi, the Cabinet approved the exclusion of 395.939 hectares of Nazul land under the control of the Pachmarhi Special Area Development Authority (SADA) from the Pachmarhi Sanctuary, formally declaring it as revenue Nazul land.
To strengthen wildlife conservation and community development, the Cabinet granted administrative approval of ₹390 crore for the development of buffer zones across the state’s nine tiger reserves over a five-year period from 2026–27 to 2030–31. The programme will focus on chain-link fencing in sensitive areas, wildlife protection measures, pasture development, creation of water sources, fire prevention, veterinary care, health monitoring of wildlife, and skill development initiatives for local communities.
The Cabinet also cleared ₹215.47 crore for two irrigation projects in Narmadapuram district. Of this, ₹86.76 crore was approved for the Bagra Branch Canal under the Tawa Right Bank Canal Hoj Irrigation Project, covering a proposed irrigation area of 4,200 hectares and benefiting 33 villages in Babai and Sohagpur tehsils. Another ₹128.71 crore was sanctioned for the Pipariya Branch Canal Hoj Irrigation Project from the Tawa Right Bank Canal, aimed at irrigating 6,000 hectares and benefitting 30 villages in Sohagpur tehsil.
In a major boost to welfare and administrative infrastructure, the Cabinet approved ₹17,864.26 crore for the continuation of 17 schemes under the Tribal Welfare Department, Food and Civil Supplies Department, and Revenue Department for the period 2026–27 to 2030–31. This includes ₹377.26 crore for 15 schemes of the Tribal Welfare Department, covering fee reimbursement, pre-examination coaching, scout and guide activities, transport, healthcare support and awards. Additionally, ₹15,000 crore was sanctioned for the Chief Minister’s Farmer Crop Procurement Assistance Scheme under the Food and Civil Supplies Department, while ₹2,487 crore was approved for the construction of office and residential buildings at tehsil, district and divisional levels under the Revenue Department.
The Cabinet also approved the “Overseas Employment Facilitation Scheme for Other Backward Class Youths, 2025”, aimed at expanding global employment opportunities for OBC youth through structured placement and support mechanisms.
