
The University Counseling & Guidance Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) organised an online lecture on “How to handle examination anxiety” on 2nd February 2022. The Centre organized the lecture with an objective to address to the increasing problem of examination anxiety among students as the semester-end examination is approaching .The program was attended by a number of teachers and hundreds of students of the university.
Prof Naved Iqbal, Hony.Director, University Counseling & Guidance Centre welcomed the participants and the Guest Speaker Dr. M Manjula, Additional Professor, NIMHANS. Dr. Manjula explained the factors that tend to contribute to examination anxiety. There are different manifestations of it such as physical symptoms, increased emotionality, interference, and lack of confidence. She described the varied ways of tackling examination anxiety at the preparatory stage and on the actual day of examination.
The presentation was followed by a fruitful question-answer session where the speaker addressed different queries of participants.
