The Department of Teacher Training and Non-Formal Education (IASE), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Azim Premji University, Bangaluru began a three-day National Seminar on issues related to Pedagogy of Language and Literature in School Education on 9th October 2020. The seminar is being organised in Urdu and Hindi languages
.Prof Sara Begum,HoD,IASE welcomed the esteemed guests from across the nation. This seminar, being organized in an online mode, is a part of the centenary celebrations of the university. The inaugural address was given by the JMI Vice Chancellor, Prof. Najma Akhtar. Dean, Faculty of Education, JMI Prof. Aejaz Masih, introduced and welcomed the Vice-Chancellor.
Prof. Najma Akhtar talked about the common vision of India shared by the founders of the University as well as Mahatma Gandhi. She also emphasized the need for further such academic collaborations.Appropriate to the occasion, Prof. Mohammad Akhtar Siddiqui in his talk “Jamia Millia Islamia: Aik mission, Aik Sankalp” spoke on the history, vision and philosophy of the University.
Prof. Hridaykant Diwan, Dean, Academics, Azim Premji University, talked about the Anuvaad Pehal initiative of APU. He also highlighted the perspective of the seminar series of which the current seminar is a part.The vote of thanks was proposed by the seminar convener, Prof. Gurjeet Kaur.
