Jaipur, October 3. Rajasthan DISCOMs (Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigams) had submitted their tariff petitions for the financial year 2025–26 to the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission on April 2, 2025. The Commission announced its decision today. Despite rising costs and expenditure pressures, the DISCOMs have attempted to simplify the tariff structure for all categories of electricity consumers in the state. Multiple charges have been reduced and integrated across categories to make the existing complex tariff structure more consumer-friendly. While proposing these amendments, DISCOMs prioritized consumer interest.
For the first time, DISCOMs have proposed a reduction in electricity charges (energy charges) across almost all categories. Only one category—domestic consumers using up to 0–50 units per month—will continue to be charged at ₹4.75 per unit. When the tariff petition was filed, consumers were paying a fuel surcharge of 70 paise per unit. For the first time, DISCOMs have proposed combining this with a regulatory surcharge:
For domestic consumers using up to 0–100 units per month: 70 paise per unit regulatory surcharge.
For other consumer categories: ₹1 per unit regulatory surcharge, in addition to the fuel surcharge.
Domestic consumers using up to 300 units per month will also come under the regulatory surcharge framework.
