Hyderabad, May 4, 2026: In a crackdown on corruption, officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) employee red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh.
The accused, identified as Srilatha, is a junior assistant posted at the Borabanda GHMC office in Hyderabad. According to ACB officials, she had allegedly demanded ₹5 lakh from a citizen to clear a file related to building construction permission.
As part of the demanded amount, she was caught accepting ₹1 lakh during a trap operation conducted by the ACB.
Officials confirmed that the accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway to determine if more officials were involved in the case.
