It is every woman’s dream to attain clear and glowing skin. Beauty is not only defined by striking features, but also attributed to clear and healthy skin. A healthy diet, good skincare routine are harbingers of clear and glowing skin. However, here are a few extra tips to keep your skin soft and glowing this festive season.
Cleansers: In winters, the skin tends to become dry and if not moisturized every day, it can crack, become irritated and lead to serious itching. Counter it by using some natural, gentle, fragrance-free cleansers in your everyday skincare practice. To make sure you get the maximum benefits out of your natural skincare products. You can take a warm bath using either bath oil or a moisturizing bath soak, which will leave a nice creamy film on your skin. This will keep the skin from becoming dry.
Exfoliators: You should also include some gentle natural exfoliation as a part of the skincare routine, especially when you are taking a bath. It helps to remove the dead skin cells and keep the skin healthy. Try using a sugar scrub which is gentle on the skin.
Moisturizers: Add moisturizer with your toner. After cleansing, be sure to use a hydrating serum followed by a hydrating moisturizer. The combination of serum and moisturizer will also help to keep the skin of your face fresh, youthful, and healthy.
If you have dry skin, it is recommended to moisturize frequently, especially your hands as they tend to dry out faster because of constant use and exposure throughout the day. Keep a small tube of hand cream or Vaseline with you to avoid dealing with dry hands.
Shower: Avoid long, hot showers and baths as they tend to remove the moisture from the skin, making it dry. Enable a quicker skincare routine. After a quick shower, damp your skin with a towel and immediately apply your products, such as cleanser, toner, serum, etc. It will keep your skin hydrated in the process and lead to better absorption of the products.
Natural products: Natural products go a long way in keeping your skin healthy in winters. Use organic coconut oil to moisturize your skin and even your hair. To manage dry, irritated skin, nothing is better than pure aloe vera. Here are some of the basic natural masks to start with:
- For Skin Lightening: Take 5-10 drops of lemon, curd 1 cup and honey 3 spoons. Mix them and apply evenly on face. Let dry for 5 minutes and wash off with cold water.
- For Dead Cell Removal: Take milk cream 1 spoon, powdered oats, and blended half tomato. Take the mixture and apply evenly. Wait for 5 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.
- For Tan Removal: Take a blended tomato, half cup curd and 5 drops of lemon. Apply the mixture evenly on the face. Let it rest for 10 minutes and wash off with cold water.
To maintain a healthy skin is a commitment of a lifetime. Self-care is an important principle. It indicates that you are looking after yourself – from your skin to your gut-health to your mindset.
