General V K Singh (Retd) formally assumed charge as the Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways in the national capital today. A Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha since May 2014, General Singh previously served as the Minister of State for External Affairs in the previous government.
Speaking to the media after taking charge, General Singh affirmed his commitment to building on the strong foundation laid by the Ministry.
“The holistic development of road infrastructure across the country will be given top priority. We will work to ensure faster execution, better connectivity, and a more efficient transport system to meet the growing needs of a New India,” he stated.
With extensive administrative experience and a distinguished military career behind him, General Singh brings focused leadership to the Ministry’s ongoing infrastructure transformation.
