Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Shri Sumit Godara said that the state government’s priority is to ensure that the benefits of food security schemes reach the needy with complete transparency. He directed officials to regularly monitor the implementation of the schemes and ensure that ineligible individuals voluntarily exit, while eligible families continue to receive benefits.
On Monday, the Food Minister reviewed the progress of schemes during a departmental meeting held at the Sikar Collectorate. Emphasizing the success of the “Give Up Campaign,” he informed that so far, 1,55,311 units in Sikar district have voluntarily opted out of the food security scheme, which marks an important step toward transparency and public awareness.
Shri Godara instructed officials to encourage ineligible beneficiaries—such as income tax payers, state and central government employees, four-wheeler owners, and families with annual income above ₹1 lakh—to voluntarily exit the scheme. He clarified that target-based progress must be ensured, and if any ineligible persons still remain, strict action should be taken against them as per the law. He further directed that this campaign be widely publicized, from gram panchayats to urban areas, to enhance public awareness.
The Minister instructed timely disposal of all pending cases and ordered surprise verifications of approved applications by district-level, subdivision, and development officers to detect ineligible entries on time. Stressing the importance of Aadhaar seeding and e-KYC, he said digital verification is the only way to ensure transparency and targeted distribution.
During the meeting, Shri Godara also reviewed pending commission dues of ration dealers and payments to transporters, directing that all dues be cleared at the earliest to keep the distribution system smooth. He instructed that by October 31, the notification for creation of new fair price shops in the district must be completed and awareness camps organized at subdivision and village levels to identify ineligible beneficiaries. He warned that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
The Food Minister also conducted block-wise reviews of agenda points, including the status of fair price shops in the district, NFSA ration card distribution, progress under the “Give Up Campaign,” voluntarily surrendered units, total units, and the status of online data. Necessary directions were issued to ensure further progress.
