In a major anti-corruption action, the Ujjain Lokayukta police arrested a woman head constable posted at the Women’s Police Station in Dewas while she was accepting a bribe of ₹10,000. The accused has been identified as Head Constable Shaheen Khan.
According to Lokayukta officials, the action was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police (Lokayukta) Anand Yadav. Inspector Deepak Sejwar said the constable was caught red-handed the moment she accepted the bribe amount.
The case originated from a complaint filed on December 19 by Vishal Parmar, who alleged that his wife Archana had lodged a complaint related to assault and dowry harassment at the women’s police station. The complainant claimed that Head Constable Shaheen Khan demanded ₹15,000 to avoid taking action on the complaint.
After verifying the allegations, the Lokayukta team formed a trap squad. On Tuesday, the accused was apprehended while accepting ₹10,000 from the complainant. The operation continued until late evening at the Circuit House.
