Actress Honey Rose has publicly responded to an individual who she claims has been insulting her with deliberate double entendre remarks. She strongly criticized the person in her statement, accusing them of persistently following her to different venues to humiliate her.
Kochi: Actress Honey Rose has openly addressed the issue of a person who has been deliberately trying to insult her at various events using double-meaning remarks. Without naming the individual, Honey expressed her strong disapproval in a public statement. "This person tries to attend events where I am present and uses media platforms to insult me in a way that demeans womanhood," she said.
Honey revealed that close acquaintances had questioned her silence, asking whether she enjoyed such remarks or accepted them as valid. "When someone continuously follows me and insults me with double entendre remarks, people close to me ask if my silence means I enjoy such statements or agree with them," she stated.
Honey also mentioned that she had refused to attend events organized by the individual in the past, which led to retaliatory actions. "After I declined invitations to events organized by this person, they began to deliberately show up at events I attend and insult me through the media in a manner that demeans womanhood," she added.
She further questioned whether wealth gives someone the power to insult women and whether the Indian legal system provides any protection against such behavior. According to Honey, the actions of this individual prima facie fall under offenses outlined in the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for making sexually colored remarks and following someone with such intent.
"In my personal experience, I often dismiss such behavior by mentally deranged individuals with contempt and pity. However, that does not mean I lack the ability to respond. Freedom of expression does not mean one can insult another's personal freedom," Honey wrote in her social media post.
The actress has made it clear that she will not tolerate such behavior and has chosen to speak out against the persistent harassment she has faced.
