New Delhi, August 15, 2025 – Marking India’s 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the national flag at the Red Fort and announced the launch of the ₹1 lakh crore Vikasheel Bharat Rozgar Yojana, aimed at generating 3.5 crore new job opportunities for the country’s youth.
Addressing the nation, PM Modi praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for completing 100 years of service to the nation, calling its contribution “significant and unwavering.” He also spoke about expanding India’s National Security Shield by 2035 and highlighted the importance of self-reliance through initiatives such as Vocal for Local, Low Price, High Value, and reducing production costs.
Under the new jobs scheme, young men and women securing their first private-sector job will receive a government grant of ₹15,000. Companies creating substantial employment will be eligible for incentive packages to encourage large-scale hiring.
PM Modi also referred to Operation Sindoor, underscoring India’s commitment to national security and decisive action in safeguarding the nation’s interests.
Nationwide, celebrations erupted from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, with streets, homes, and public spaces adorned in the colours of the Indian tricolour.
