Delhi government has announced certain relaxations in the fourth phase of coronavirus lockdown. It has allowed buses, cars, autos, and E-rikshaws to ply across the national capital from today.
Briefing reporters, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, government and Private offices can open at full strength. He said, no activities will be allowed in the containment zones except essential services. Mr Kejriwal said, stepping out of homes between 7 PM to 7 AM except for essential services will be prohibited in the city.
He said that wearing masks and maintaining social distancing is mandatory for all. Marriages will be allowed with a maximum of 50 people, and funerals will be allowed with a maximum of 20 people. AIR Correspondent reports that restaurants can open for home-delivery but dining facilities will not be permitted.
The lockdown has been extended in the national capital till 31st May with a slew of relaxations. Buses will ply on the roads with not more than 20 passengers. The screening of each passenger will be done before boarding the bus. Movement of private vehicles will be allowed with not more than two passengers in a four-wheeler vehicle and not more than one rider on a two-wheeler vehicle.
Taxis and cabs will be allowed with only two passengers. Auto rickshaws and e- rickshaws will be permitted with only one passenger. Sports complexes and stadiums will be opened, but there will be no spectators allowed during matches and events. All markets will be opened, but shops in markets and market complexes will operate on an Odd-Even basis.
All standalone, neighbourhood and residential shops will be opened and the responsibility to maintain social distancing will lie with the shopkeepers. Metros, schools and colleges, cinema halls, Shopping malls, swimming pools, salons and spas will remain closed. Social, political, religious gatherings will not be allowed.
The Delhi government has said that industrial establishments in the city will be permitted to function in staggered business hours. Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Dev has issued order in this regard. Industrial firms whose registered name starts with A to L may function from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM while other firms whose name starts with M to Z may function from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM in the national capital. To ensure safety at offices and workplaces, employers should make sure that Aarogya Setu app is installed by all employees.
