Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as a global talent hub, with a sharp focus on future-ready skills, as the 6th National Skill Conclave concluded successfully in Lucknow. The event aligned with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of a Developed Uttar Pradesh and the state’s goal of building a one-trillion-dollar economy.
Organised by the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission in collaboration with the Departments of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, the conclave brought together policymakers, skill experts, industry leaders, and educationists from across the country. The central objective was to transform Uttar Pradesh into India’s largest skilled workforce state and a global skill capital.
Discussions at the conclave highlighted stronger collaboration between industry, academia, and government to build a robust skill ecosystem. Special emphasis was placed on emerging sectors such as drones, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, green agriculture, and robotics, which are expected to drive employment and productivity in the coming years.
Addressing a technical session, InMobi Global Senior Vice President Dr Subi Chaturvedi presented the SAHYOG Framework for 21st-century skill development. She stressed that for an aspirational state like Uttar Pradesh, skilling is no longer just about employment but a foundation for productivity and global competitiveness. She advocated AI-driven skilling architecture, industry-aligned micro-credentials, and modular skill stacks.
Chief Secretary Dr Hari Om said skill development is the backbone of the state’s economic growth. He noted that with sustained policy support, Uttar Pradesh is expected to emerge as the world’s largest workforce supplier in the next 5 to 15 years. He added that the state’s skilling strategy is now firmly centred on future skills such as drones, AI, EVs, green technologies, and robotics.
UP Skill Development Mission Director Pulkrit Khare said the government’s priority is to create an industry-oriented skill ecosystem. He highlighted ongoing curriculum upgrades in partnership with organisations such as CII and ASSOCHAM to ensure continuous alignment with industry needs.
