Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah paid homage to the martyrs at the National Police Memorial (NPM) today. Marking his first public engagement since assuming charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Shri Shah was warmly received by senior officials including Union Home Secretary Shri Rajiv Gauba and Directors General of Central Armed Police Forces.
Shri Amit Shah laid a wreath at the 30-foot-tall central sculpture, honoring the sacrifices of police personnel who have served the nation since Independence. He also visited the National Police Museum, where officials showcased exhibits highlighting the history, valor, and achievements of India’s police forces.
In the visitors’ book, Shri Shah wrote:
“Paid homage to more than 34,000 martyrs of police and security forces. Our great nation is safe today because of their supreme sacrifices. I pay my utmost respects to those martyrs and their families. This visit gave me more inspiration and energy to serve our nation.”
