Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani on Wednesday emphasised that officers and employees of the Assembly must work collectively to strengthen the dignity, decorum, and constitutional values of the House.
Addressing a retirement felicitation ceremony at the Assembly premises, the Speaker said the Legislature is a “temple of democracy” and its functioning depends not only on elected representatives but also on the dedication and integrity of its officials and staff.
During the event, Asha Sharma, Editor (Printing), and Rameshwar Sain, Assistant Staff member, were formally honoured on their retirement. Speaker Devnani felicitated both retirees by presenting them with traditional turbans, shawls, and mementoes, and extended his best wishes for their post-retirement life.
Devnani noted that Assembly personnel should utilise their professional capabilities in a manner that contributes to both state and national development, while also inspiring others to uphold institutional values. He added that he makes a conscious effort to personally attend retirement ceremonies as a mark of respect for long-serving employees.
Senior officials present at the ceremony included Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Principal Secretary of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly; Apoorva Joshi, Financial Advisor; Sanjeev Sharma, Senior Deputy Secretary; and Ravi Jain, President of the Rajasthan Legislative Employees’ Cooperative Credit Society, along with several Assembly officers and staff members.
