Zomato today released its Instagram carousel "This is How India Ordered," a data-driven recap highlighting standout 2025 ordering trends, city-specific volumes, peak times, and demographic patterns across the nation.
Delhi-NCR led with 4.22 crore orders – 4.23 crore more than Bengaluru – while Vijayawada Junction topped railway station orders at 1.14 lakh, and the United Arab Emirates ranked highest overseas with 2.31 lakh orders from 1.3 lakh users across 0.6 lakh orders.
Peak ordering hit 18.72 lakh at 8:25 PM, with leading conference times recording 17.1 lakh at 8:24 PM and 18.69 lakh at 8:22 PM; IIT Kharagpur students placed 2.4 lakh orders, IIT Bombay 1.8 lakh, and IIT Delhi 1.6 lakh in 2025.
Raksha Bandhan saw 171 sweets ordered every minute, while Christmas logged 98 cakes every minute, celebrating Zomato's top performers of the year.
