Narayanpet, Telangana: The Anti-Corruption Bureau Telangana (ACB) has caught Pathlavath Ramachander, Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) of Narayanpet Revenue Division, while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹25,000 from a complainant.
According to ACB officials, the accused officer sought the illegal gratification in exchange for granting approval of a file related to the late registration of birth certificates of the complainant and four others. Acting on a complaint, the agency laid a trap and apprehended the officer at the time of accepting the bribe. The tainted amount was subsequently recovered from his possession.
The case underscores ongoing concerns around corruption in public service delivery, particularly in revenue and documentation-related approvals, which often impact citizens directly.
The ACB has reiterated its appeal to the public to report instances of bribery or corruption by government officials. Citizens can reach out via the toll-free helpline 1064, WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), or through the official website to lodge complaints.
