New Delhi, December 14: Students from the Faculty of Law had a very engaging session at Jamia Millia Islamia’s Ideation Centre at FTK-Centre for Information Technology for discussing the roadmap for ViksitBharat@2047. On 11th December 2023, Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched ‘ViksitBharat@2047:Voice of Youth’ for the nation. The program has been launched with the core vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, marking the 100th year of its independence.
This comprehensive vision encompasses various dimensions of development, including- economic growth focused on achieving sustained and inclusive economic development; social progress aiming for holistic social development and inclusivity; and environmental sustainability, emphasising on responsible environmental practices and good governance which strives for effective and transparent governance.
Several students from the Faculty of Law namely- Sehar Rauf, Janvhi Rastogi, Zoya Shabbir [BA, LL.B. (Hons.) Final Year], Rashiqa Akhtar, Muhammad Shaghil Ansari, Wafiya Faiz and Aboo Baqar [BA., LL.B. (Hons.) First Year] presented their views on questions related to ViksitBharat@2047 guided by Dr. Faizanur Rahman, Professor at the Faculty of Law.
In 2047, Viksit Bharat should look like a state where its most fundamental to advanced amenities and facilities are accessible and affordable to all, including the mentally and physically challenged people. There should be eradication of any and every sort of religion and caste-based inequality and discrimination. Moreover, India should be a carbon-negative and technically advanced country incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning in various domains. The Purchasing-Power Parity of the Indian citizens should be better, resulting in a higher standard of living for all the citizens.
Students expressed the need to enhance the standard and quality of education and educational opportunities and introduce greater and more diverse forms of vocational training for skill development of individuals. Emphasis should also be placed on an overall advancement of communication skills, personality development and confidence building of the youth so that they are able to voice their opinions. Further, there is a need to develop a better public healthcare system in India, like in Tamil Nadu, which can be done by having a pan-India Public Health Act. Additionally, India should aim at enacting their own comprehensive AI Act, so that people can regulate its functioning.
To make ViksitBharat@2047 a possibility, first and foremost, Government can spread awareness on an individual level as well as in collaboration with NGOs and civil social organizations through campaigns, educational fairs, and nukkad nataks, to work at the grass root levels. With an ever-increasing rise in technological advancement, students can make optimum use of social media platforms for this purpose but also to highlight the struggles of the marginalised and disadvantaged sections of society to ensure that the same reaches our representatives in Parliament so that necessary action can be taken effectively and efficiently.
Students agreed to fathom a developed nation without the active engagement of the youngsters. Hence, this exercise by the students from the Faculty of Law, in furtherance of the vision shared by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, seeks to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047.
