To ensure early diagnosis and effective treatment of hypothyroidism among young people, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, in collaboration with the Government Homeopathic Medical College, Bhopal, has jointly established a specialist unit within the college campus. Patients suffering from hypothyroidism are currently being treated at this dedicated facility.
The unit provides holistic treatment through homeopathic medicine, yoga, dietary therapy, and natural treatment methods, benefiting a large number of patients. Prior to treatment, each patient undergoes body composition analysis, enabling doctors to customise the treatment according to individual needs.
Treatment services are available through prior registration at the Government Homeopathic Medical College. Registration can be done by calling 0755-2992970 on working days between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. After registration, patients are required to bring all previous medical reports and ensure availability on the allotted day to avoid inconvenience to other patients.
At present, due to the impact of lifestyle changes, dietary habits, and environmental factors, cases of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) are increasingly being observed among the youth. The condition commonly leads to weight gain and reduced physical activity. If it occurs at a very young age, it can significantly affect a child’s overall development.
Among young adults—especially women—hypothyroidism often begins with irregular menstrual cycles. Hormonal imbalance caused by the condition increases the likelihood of developing other health issues in the future, such as diabetes, obesity, joint pain, and related complications.
