The Congress registered a significant victory in the Sirsa Block Development and Panchayat Department during the election for Block Committee Chairman held today.
Out of the 29-member committee, 20 members voted in favor of the Congress-backed candidate Master Jaswant Singh Panihari, who was subsequently declared the Chairman.
Congress MLA from Kalanwali, Shishpal Keharwala, and senior Congress leader Rajkumar Sharma were present during the election. MLA Keharwala congratulated Jaswant Singh on his win and said the result clearly shows Congress’s strong hold in Sirsa and that people trust the party on development issues. He alleged that the BJP tried to influence the election, but all attempts failed against the growing popularity of the Congress.
Rajkumar Sharma also congratulated the newly elected Chairman and said that Jaswant Singh will accelerate development in rural areas. He added that Congress is continuously gaining ground in Sirsa, giving a strong response to the BJP.
