Cooperative State Minister (Independent Charge) Shri Gautam Kumar Dak stated on Wednesday that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, is committed to the prosperity and welfare of farmers and livestock keepers. To realize this vision, the Rajasthan Cooperative Gopal Credit Card Loan Scheme Portal has been launched.
During the inauguration ceremony held at Nehru Sahakar Bhavan, Shri Dak announced that, for the first time in the country, livestock-keeping farmer families residing in rural areas of Rajasthan will be provided with short-term interest-free loans of up to one lakh rupees for a period of one year. He added that if the loan is repaid on time, the farmer will not have to pay any interest.
The Cooperative Minister further explained that livestock-keeping farmer families often face a shortage of funds for essential needs like building sheds for cows/buffaloes, purchasing necessary equipment, and arranging fodder/feed. This lack of resources often prevents them from fully benefiting from their livestock. To address this issue, the government has introduced the facility of interest-free loans.
Shri Dak emphasized that the loan distribution process has been made transparent and hassle-free by conducting the entire process—from loan application to approval—online. Livestock-keeping farmers can apply for loans through the e-Mitra centers or the respective Gram Seva Cooperative Societies. He also mentioned that it is mandatory for the livestock-keeping farmer to be a member of the Primary Dairy Producers Cooperative Society.
The Cooperative Minister stated that to ensure that the maximum number of livestock-keeping farmers benefit from the Gopal Credit Card Scheme, camps will be organized jointly by the Dairy Federation and Central Cooperative Banks. This will help achieve the government's target of providing loans to five lakh farmers. He urged the officials present to promote the scheme widely to maximize its reach.
The event was attended by Cooperative Secretary Smt. Shuchi Tyagi, Registrar Smt. Archana Singh, Managing Director of RCDF Smt. Sushma Arora, Additional Registrar (First) Shri Rajeev Lochan Sharma, Managing Director of Apex Bank Shri Sanjay Pathak, along with other officials from the Cooperative Department, RCDF, and the Information Technology & Communication Department.
