Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot on Saturday approved the proposal to implement ‘Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Post Rules, 2022’ in the state. These rules will be applicable to the contract workers working in various departments of the state. More than 1 lakh 10 thousand contract workers of the state will be benefited by bringing them under the purview of these rules. This decision of Shri Gehlot, taken in an important meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence, will pave the way for light in the lives of these contract workers on the occasion of Diwali.
It is noteworthy that these contract workers continued to play an important role in the implementation of various welfare and social security schemes of the central and state governments, but their social security was not taken care of. Even in many states their honorarium was not increased. With this decision taken by Shri Gehlot with a humanitarian approach, social security of more than 1 lakh 10 thousand contractual workers of the state will be ensured.
With this decision of Shri Gehlot, a total of 41423 contractual workers, including education workers, para teachers, gram panchayat assistants, English medium teachers, rural development and panchayati raj departments, total 18326 of Rajivika and MNREGA, 5697 madrassa para teachers of minority department, A total of 1 lakh 10 thousand 279 contract workers including 44833 contract workers of Medical and Health Department and Medical Education Department will be benefitted by these rules.
With the implementation of Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Post Rules, 2022, the recruitment of contractual workers will be done in a transparent manner and reservation will also be taken care of. Along with this, the contractual workers who will work for 5 years, in future if those posts become regular, they can be made permanent after screening from those contractual workers. It has also been taken care in the rules that which post should be considered equivalent to which permanent post, on this basis the honorarium has been fixed for these contractual workers and the provision of special pay protection has also been kept. On becoming regular, these personnel will be given OPS. benefits will also be given.
Several committees were formed from time to time to regularize the contractual workers, but their problems could not be resolved permanently. Shri Gehlot announced the creation of department-wise cadre of contractual workers in the budget for the year 2021-22 and announced a 20 percent increase in their honorarium in the budget for the year 2022-23.
Chief Minister Shri Gehlot understood their pain and for the first time in the state implemented the Rajasthan Contractual Hiring to Civil Post Rules, 2022, so that every section of the society comes under the ambit of social security. With this thought in mind, Shri Gehlot has congratulated all the contract workers who have benefited from this decision and wished them a bright future.

Kalla, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Mr. Ramesh Meena, Minority Affairs Minister Mr. Shale Mohammad, Medical and Health Minister Mr. Parsadi Lal Meena, Chief Secretary Mrs. Usha Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Education Department Mr. Pawan Kumar Goel, Principal Secretary Finance Mr. Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Mrs. Aparna Arora, Government Secretary, Medical and Health Department, Dr. Prithviraj and Secretary, Minority Affairs Department, Mr. Puran Chandra Kishan and other high officials were present.
