When it comes to connecting with people directly on ground level, Rajasthan Police has always been instrumental in conducting initiatives. One such effort was taken by the head of all-women Nirbhaya Squad Sunita Meena. Under operation Smile, the officer reached out to meet several people on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and tied Rakhis.
“Connecting with the public is our prime initiative and under Operation Smile, we focus on connecting with kids to make them aware of policing and make them comfortable about the overall atmosphere. The priority of Operation Smile is also on connecting families living apart or far away. We focus on letting them know that We Are There,” said Additional DCP Sunita Meena.
The Senior Cop visited several corners of the city and met children and elderley and celebrated Raksha Bandhan with their families. Notably, Additional DCP Meena conducted duties in several containment zones of Jaipur along with her over 200-Member Nirbhaya Squad.
The bike-borne officiers reached out to individual homes and delivered essential commodities along with Sanitary Pads to scores of women. Going out of the way, she also extended a helping hand to newly expecting mothers. “We have launched a panic button in the Raj Cop App through which people in need can reach out to us immediately and nearly 600 cases of such kind have already been resolved. A WhatsApp number Dedicated to females has also been launched i.e.- 8764868200 along with a common WhatsApp number for all which is 7600363636,” said Additional DCP Sunita Meena.
The officers of the nirbhaya squad can be seen in the city donning Navy Blue Uniform. Every single officer is trained in martial arts to counter any escalating situation or wrong doing. The all Women Squad is primarily focused on the safety of women and children in Rajasthan.
