The Central government has accused the West Bengal government of "unpardonable" non-cooperation in the ongoing investigation into the Kolkata rape-murder case. In a recent application filed with the Supreme Court, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs criticized the TMC government's alleged obstructionist tactics and sought a directive for the state authorities to fully cooperate with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
During a hearing on August 22, the Supreme Court expressed strong disapproval of the Kolkata Police's delay in registering the doctor's unnatural death. The court also urged protesting doctors nationwide to resume their duties, emphasizing the importance of justice and medical care.
