The Lok SabhaSpeaker, Shri Om Birla said that the legislative, executive and judiciary wings should all fulfil their responsibility to bring a change and give direction to build a New India. He was speaking after inaugurating an Orientation Course on Parliamentary Practices and Procedures for – IAS officers of 2017 Batch in New Delhi today.Shri Om Birlaadvisedthe officers to move ahead with an open mind to do justice to the people in an impartial manner.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister ShriPralhad Joshi speaking on the occasion said the officers selected through a fair competition and they the Members of Parliament are in their position today only because of a democratic system. He advised the officers to think of the last person of the society, as they perform their duties.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal said that as part of the Executive wing of democratic system they should be responsible to the people.
Minister of State for Parliamentary AffairsShri V. Muraleedharan, said the officers should make every effort to build a New India.
The concluding session of the course was addressed by the Secretary of the Ministry Information& Broadcasting, Shri Amit Khare. He advised the officers to be accurate as they would provide information to Parliament / Legislatures. He said officers should definitely do what they think and feel to be the right thing. Secretary, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi advised the officers to be always available to the people as they are really to be at their service in a humble manner
Two technical sessions were organized as a part of this Orientation Course by the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry(MPA) –one on the Parliamentary Practices and Procedures and the second on National E-Vidhan Project, popularly known as NeVA. This Short Course is aimed at enhancing the knowledge and experience of these young officers on Parliamentary practices.
Later, these officers had also watched the proceedings of the Lok Sabha.
