A two-week (21st January- 4th February,2021) online refresher course in commerce and management studies for teachers today began by jamia Millia Islamia(JMI). UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (UGC-HRDC), Centre for Management Studies and Department of Commerce & Business Studies, JMI. More than 80 young faculty members from different universities and colleges across India will attend this course.
Professor Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, JMI was the Chief Guest of the inaugural function today. Professor Amirul Hasan Ansari, Director, CMS, Professor N. U. Khan Sherwani, Head, Dept. of Commerce & Business Studies along with faculty members and researchers of the JMI and other universities attended the inaugural program.The inaugural session was started with the reception speech by Professor Anis-ur-Rehman, Director, UGC – HRDC,JMI.
After welcoming the Chief Guest, other dignitaries and participants he briefed about the significance of the refresher course.During her inaugural speech, Prof. Najma Akhtar highlighted the importance of the refresher course and its theme on ICT in Commerce & Management Studies. She congratulated UGC-HRDC and the Centre for Management Sudies & Department of Commerce & Business Studies, JMI on organizing this important program.
Emphasising on the importance of ICT in current scenario, use of Artificial Intelligence in daily life and its importance in the future she also highlighted the importance of Time Management and other emerging issues in commerce & Management Studies. . Over the next two weeks, expert speakers from educational institutions, MNCs and research institutions from across the country and abroad will train young faculty members to tackle emerging concepts, innovative technical solutions and sensitive issues and challenges at the local level.Dr. S. Wajid Ali and Dr. Devendra Dhusia are coordinators of the course.
