Birmingham City University (BCU), Ronkel Media Education and Research Institute and the Indian Institute of Management Raipur (IIM Raipur) are proud to announce a special lecture delivered by Dr. Sara Gracy, Senior Lecturer in Leadership and HRM at BCU, as part of the EPGP Batch B3 elective course "Bringing Humanities and Innovation Management and Creative Entrepreneurial Leadership." This groundbreaking course is offered jointly by Prof. Mrunal Chavda, Asst. Professor Humanities and Liberal Arts, IIM Raipur, and Prof. Shishank, BCU, marking a significant collaboration between the two esteemed institutions.
This course is a result of a joint research grant funded by the British Council (India) to both institutions. This grant aims to support industry-academic collaboration for a more joined-up approach, leading to excellence in higher education, a work-ready workforce, and quality research outputs for the benefit of both industry and academia.
Dr. Gracy, renowned for her expertise in supervisory leadership and its influence on workplace behaviours, will address the integration of humanities with innovation management to cultivate creative entrepreneurial leaders. Her lecture will explore the dynamic relationship between leadership and organizational behaviour, emphasizing the importance of diversity, equality, and inclusion in the public sector.
The course aims to bridge the gap between traditional management education and the creative, human-centric approach needed to lead in the modern, innovation-driven business environment. It is designed to equip participants with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of international management while fostering an environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
A distinguished team of professors has arrived for the campus immersion program, ready to engage with students and faculty through a series of interactive sessions and collaborative learning experiences. This initiative reflects the commitment of both BCU and IIM Raipur to provide a holistic educational experience that prepares future leaders for the challenges of global business.
Both institutions will aim to catalyze industry-academia partnerships that will allow academia and industry to work in sync, prepare a work-ready workforce, reduce on-the-job training costs, and make learners more employable. The course aims to build stronger, more inclusive, industry-connected higher education systems that support global development impacts. The lecture took place on 27th May 2024 at IIM Raipur during the campus immersion phase of the program. Participants interacted with Dr. Gracy, Prof. Shishak, and Prof. Navjot Sandhu, gaining insights into the practical application of innovative leadership principles in creative and cultural industries.
