The third meeting of the Ministerial Committee formed to address various demands of the Most Backward Classes (MBC) and Gurjar community was held on Thursday at the Government Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Jogaram Patel, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Avinash Gehlot, and Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Jawahar Singh Bedham.
As per the directives of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the committee discussed in detail all seven key points suggested by the Gurjar Reservation Committee. Among the major decisions taken, the committee approved a compassionate appointment in the Urban Local Bodies Department and a financial aid of ₹5 lakh to the dependent of the late Shri Rupnarayan Gurjar of Sikandra.
The committee also made a positive decision to authorize MBC personnel—subject to the Supreme Court’s ruling—on matters related to regularization, promotions, and resolution of various pending issues across the education and other departments.
To expedite the resolution of legal cases related to the Gurjar reservation movement, it was decided to appoint an Additional Superintendent of Police as the nodal officer at the district level, and an Inspector General (IG)-level officer at the state level for coordination. A comprehensive review of the remaining demands was also conducted to take necessary decisions in due course.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Ms. Aparna Arora; Personnel Department Secretary Dr. Krishna Kant Pathak; Director and Joint Secretary of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Mr. Ashish Modi; along with officials from concerned departments.
