The Foundation Day of Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur was celebrated on Saturday at Lok Bhavan, reflecting India’s cultural diversity and national unity. Governor Shri Haribhau Bagade extended greetings and best wishes to residents of these states living in Rajasthan and called upon them to actively contribute to nation-building.
Member of Parliament and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Dinesh Sharma, was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Bagade said that India truly embodies the vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat,” where unity thrives amidst diversity. He noted that celebrating state foundation days helps strengthen the culture of unity by honoring regional identities as part of a shared national heritage. Describing Uttar Pradesh as the largest state of the country and the cultural forehead of India, the Governor highlighted its rich heritage, citing Ayodhya’s Ram Lalla Temple and the historic Prayagraj Kumbh Mela as major global attractions. He also underscored the significance of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura as key northeastern states, known for their strong tribal traditions and deep connection with nature.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma elaborated on the distinctive features of Uttar Pradesh, stating that it is not only the country’s largest religious tourism hub but also a state that is economically and politically robust and progressing rapidly. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed accelerated and inclusive development. Dr. Sharma also pointed out the close people-to-people ties between Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, noting that each state has a significant population residing in the other, making them partners in shared growth and development.
Earlier, the Governor interacted with residents from Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura, who shared their experiences and perspectives. Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Prithvi, was also present at the event.
