The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has booked Kallepalli Srinivasa Rao, former Superintending Engineer of the Panchayat Raj Department, Visakhapatnam, for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income—even after his retirement.
Based on credible intelligence, ACB officials registered a case against Rao under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) and launched simultaneous searches at five locations across Visakhapatnam, Saluru and Hyderabad, including his residence.
Assets Seized During Searches
During the raids, officials seized substantial movable and immovable assets, including:
3 house sites/plots
2 residential flats
18.57 acres of agricultural land
Cash worth ₹61.87 lakh
Gold weighing approximately 2.5 kg
Silver weighing about 20.3 kg
Hyundai Accent car, a motorcycle, and other valuable household articles
In addition, five bank lockers linked to the accused have been identified and are scheduled to be opened as part of the ongoing investigation.
Tracked Even After Retirement
ACB officials confirmed that Rao was under surveillance even after his retirement, underscoring sustained monitoring of suspected corrupt officials beyond service tenure.
Rao last served as Superintending Engineer, Panchayat Raj Department, Visakhapatnam, and retired on December 31, 2025, upon attaining superannuation.
Career Background
Kallepalli Srinivasa Rao joined government service as an Assistant Engineer in 1990 and served in various capacities across Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts before being promoted to the post of Superintending Engineer.
