In preparation for the National Immunization Day (NID) Pulse Polio Campaign, a meeting of the District Task Force was held at the Collectorate conference hall under the chairmanship of Collector Shri Abhijeet Singh. With the message “Save the nation’s future, administer polio drops every time,” extensive arrangements have been completed across the district for the National Pulse Polio Campaign 2025.
On the first day of the campaign, December 21, 2025, polio drops will be administered at designated booths. This will be followed by mop-up rounds on December 22 and 23, during which health teams will go door-to-door to ensure that all children aged 0 to 5 years receive an additional dose of the polio vaccine.
Under this campaign, a target has been set to administer polio drops to 2,59,188 children in Durg district. It has been made mandatory to cover 100 percent of children in the 0–5 age group to ensure complete protection.
District Immunization Officer Dr. Divya Shrivastava informed that, to ensure the campaign’s complete success, training of all officials and staff working in the district’s development blocks—including Anganwadi workers and Mitanins (community health workers)—has been completed. For effective implementation of the campaign, a total of 1,043 units have been set up across the district, comprising 1,002 fixed booths, 13 mobile booths, and 25 transit booths.
