Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has directed that medicines distributed by Mobile Medical Units must strictly follow the prescribed route chart. He emphasised that the quantity of medicines should be calculated based on each patient’s requirement and the expected return schedule of the unit, ensuring uninterrupted availability until the unit revisits the area.
The Governor issued these instructions during a review meeting of the PM Janman Yojana of the Tribal Cell, held at Lok Bhavan with senior officials of the Tribal Affairs Department. Chairman of the Tribal Cell, Shri Deepak Khandekar, and other members were also present.
Governor Patel also instructed that electricity connections must be ensured in all houses allotted to beneficiaries under the Janman scheme. He directed officials to compile house-wise data, identify units lacking electricity connections, and complete pending installations at the earliest.
During the meeting, officials informed that over 9.52 lakh patients have been registered through the Mobile Medical Units operating under the scheme, including 4,75,375 PVTG beneficiaries and 4,76,647 others. The units have conducted screening for 95,360 sickle-cell cases and 15,811 TB cases, along with diagnostic tests for more than seven lakh patients.
