Chief Secretary V. Srinivas has directed that the vacant posts in all agricultural universities across Rajasthan be filled at the earliest in accordance with established rules. He emphasized that agricultural universities play a crucial role in the expansion and quality enhancement of agricultural education in the state, and adequate availability of teaching and non-teaching staff is essential to achieving this goal. He instructed universities to expedite the recruitment process, strictly follow the SOPs, and also examine common eligibility criteria, syllabi, and examination parameters applicable across institutions.
The Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Dr. M.L. Jat, also joined the meeting from Delhi.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the recruitment process during a video conference held on Friday evening with senior officials of the Agriculture Department and Vice-Chancellors of all agricultural universities. He directed them to ensure strict compliance with procedural requirements, legal provisions, and circulars issued periodically by ICAR and the Department of Personnel. A detailed review was conducted on total sanctioned posts, vacant positions, recruitment notifications, current status, and legal aspects.
It is noteworthy that agricultural universities play a significant role in advancing the transformative initiatives undertaken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for the welfare of farmers. Strengthening agricultural education and ensuring rapid transfer of lab-generated knowledge to the fields are essential for meeting local needs—whether determining suitable seed varieties, selecting fertilizers based on soil test results, or adopting efficient irrigation techniques to achieve optimum outcomes.
