New Delhi: The Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a counterfeit medicine manufacturing unit in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and arrested two persons in connection with the illegal operation.
Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Aditya Gautam said the accused were involved in the manufacturing and distribution of fake medicines using well-known pharmaceutical brand names.
During the raid, the police seized over 7,500 counterfeit ointments, along with packaging material and other equipment used in the illegal manufacturing process.
Further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain, distribution network, and possible links to other counterfeit medicine operations in the region, police officials said.
