The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a constable posted with the Kotputli-Behror District Special Team (currently attached to Paniyala Police Station) after he was caught red-handed accepting a ₹20,000 bribe. The trap was executed on Thursday by the Bhiwadi ACB unit under directions from the ACB Headquarters. The arrested constable has been identified as Praveen Bagoria.
Demanded Bribe in Accident Dispute
According to the complaint submitted to the ACB, the case involved a minor accident. The complainant said that his nephew and niece were returning home from Nangal Chaudhary when their vehicle accidentally scratched another car while overtaking. The other driver lodged a complaint at Paniyala Police Station.
Both parties attempted to reach a mutual compromise. However, constable Praveen allegedly blocked the settlement.
Threatened to Register an FIR
The complainant alleged that the constable initially demanded ₹50,000 and later settled on ₹20,000 to allow the compromise. When the complainant refused to pay, the constable allegedly threatened to register a case and harass the family.
The ACB verified the complaint on November 26, 2025, and once it was found genuine, a trap was laid. The constable was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.
Bribe Money Recovered
Under the supervision of ACB DIG Rajesh Singh, the operation was conducted by a team led by Deputy Superintendent Parmeshwar Lal of the Bhiwadi unit. The bribe money was recovered from the constable’s possession.
Interrogation is now underway under the leadership of ADG Smita Srivastava, and a case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act for further investigation.
