Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav offered prayers on the occasion of Janmashtami at the ancient Amka-Jhamka Temple located in Sardarpur tehsil of Dhar district. This historic temple is believed to be associated with the Dwapar era and the episode of Lord Krishna’s marriage with Rukmini. The Chief Minister first visited the Dwapar-era site, performed rituals at the Ambika Mata Temple, and prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the state. He also visited the Chamunda Mata Temple and offered worship there.
Participation in Matki Phod Program
In the temple premises, the Chief Minister was honored with a traditional mace by the public and local representatives. He also caressed a calf and took part in the Matki Phod celebrations, boosting the enthusiasm of the devotees gathered.
Cultural Programs Add to the Festivities
The grand celebrations at the Amka-Jhamka temple complex featured mesmerizing cultural performances by artists, which created a deeply devotional atmosphere. On this occasion, District In-charge Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt. Savitri Thakur, District Panchayat President Sardar Singh Medha, former minister Shri Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon, public representatives, Indore Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, Dhar Collector Priyank Mishra, Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Singh, along with a large number of citizens, were present.
