World Economic Forum 2026:
On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum–2026 in Davos, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav held a one-to-one meeting with the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Maldives, Mr Mohamed Saeed. The bilateral discussion focused on strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors, with tourism as the common foundation for collaboration.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Dr Yadav stated that there are several areas where Madhya Pradesh and the Maldives can build long-term partnerships based on complementary strengths. He highlighted medical tourism, fisheries, education, healthcare services, wildlife conservation, and cultural exchange as key areas of potential cooperation.
Emphasising Madhya Pradesh’s capabilities, Dr Yadav said the state’s rich biodiversity, internationally renowned wildlife sanctuaries, rapidly developing medical infrastructure, and strong cultural heritage position it as a capable partner for global collaboration. He further underlined that tourism-led cooperation would help boost investment, skill development, and people-to-people connections between the two regions.
Maldives’ Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mr Mohamed Saeed, described tourism as a natural and powerful bridge between the Maldives and Madhya Pradesh. He expressed keen interest in working closely with Madhya Pradesh to expand opportunities in tourism, human resource development, and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
