Bijapur, February 9, 2026: In a significant step toward strengthening public healthcare access, the Bijapur district administration has launched a 24×7 emergency ambulance service to ensure timely medical assistance for residents during critical situations.
The initiative has been introduced under the guidance of District Collector Sambit Mishra, with the objective of providing rapid emergency healthcare support across the district. As part of the service, a dedicated toll-free helpline number — 18002330166 — has been issued, enabling citizens to request ambulance assistance instantly during medical emergencies.
The ambulance network will operate through the District Hospital Bijapur and various health centers across the district, ensuring wider coverage and faster response time.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. B.R. Pujari stated that the primary aim of this initiative is to deliver timely medical care to patients in emergency situations, thereby reducing the risk of loss of life and improving critical care response in the region.
The district administration has urged citizens to remain calm during emergencies and immediately contact the toll-free number to avail the ambulance service when needed.
