A revenue employee in Bihar’s Kishanganj district was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹2.5 lakh. The Vigilance Investigation Bureau team, led by a DSP from Patna, carried out the trap operation near a hotel in the city.
The accused, Rajdeep Paswan, allegedly demanded a total bribe of ₹2.70 lakh for processing the land mutation (parimarjan) of the complainant. After negotiation, he agreed to complete the work in exchange for ₹2.5 lakh. When he arrived to collect the amount—five bundles of ₹500 notes—the Vigilance team apprehended him on the spot.
Complaint Filed After Demand for Bribe
The complainant, Owais Ansari of Khagra, Ward No. 22, had submitted a written complaint to the Vigilance Bureau on 30 November 2025. After preliminary verification, Vigilance Police Station registered Case No. 103/2025 and formed a trap team headed by DSP Vinod Kumar Pandey. In the presence of the verification team, Rajdeep Paswan was caught taking the bribe.

The arrest has created a stir within the revenue department. The accused has been booked under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway.
