Bhopal, February 19, 2026: In a major crackdown against illegal narcotics, Khargone Police in Madhya Pradesh achieved significant success under Operation Prahar, seizing cannabis plants worth nearly ₹1.49 crore from remote and inaccessible areas with no mobile network coverage.
Acting on a tip-off, police teams from Helapadawa outpost under Chainpur police station carried out operations in difficult “shadow areas,” where officers worked for several hours under challenging conditions. In two separate actions, police seized 5,900 cannabis plants weighing 2,979.84 kg, with an estimated value of ₹1,49,04,200.
The operation was conducted under the direction of Anurag, Inspector General of Police, Indore Rural Zone, and Siddharth Bahuguna, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Nimad Range, Khargone, with guidance from Ravindra Verma, Superintendent of Police, Khargone, and Bittu Sehgal, Additional Superintendent of Police (City).
Two Separate Seizures
On February 18, acting on intelligence inputs, police raided a farm in Sendriyaghatiguawada village and seized 5,500 cannabis plants weighing 2,811 kg, valued at approximately ₹1.40 crore.
In another operation at a farm in Tikhli Baidi PD Jamli village, police recovered 400 cannabis plants weighing 168.84 kg, estimated at ₹8.49 lakh.
Officials said the state police are continuing strict and sustained action against illegal narcotics, and further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend those involved in the illegal cultivation network.
