Jaipur, Feb 18, 2026: Farmers whose harvested Rabi crops were damaged by ongoing unseasonal rain, hailstorms, cyclonic rainfall, or storms in the state can receive compensation under the Prime Minister’s crop insurance scheme, provided the loss is reported within 72 hours. The relief applies to insured crops kept in fields for drying for up to 14 days after harvest.
The Agriculture Department has directed insurance companies to immediately survey all reported cases and initiate claim processing. Affected farmers must inform about crop damage within 72 hours through the Agriculture Protector portal or helpline number 14447 to enable timely assessment and settlement of claims.
Farmers can also submit loss reports to the concerned insurance company operating in their district, the nearest agriculture office, or the respective bank by filling out the prescribed damage form. Authorities have instructed field officials and insurers to begin on-ground surveys without delay to ensure eligible farmers receive compensation and relief at the earliest.
